Revenue Model
We operate on a commission-based model, taking 20% of each booking. An additional 5% fee is added at checkout to offset payment processing costs (Stripe/PayPal).
Startup Journey
After building successful media platforms that monetize by promoting travel services, I launched Photo Trips in November 2023 to create my own scalable service—applying the same growth and marketing strategies I had already proven.
The idea was born from two key insights: photographers often struggle to monetize their craft, and travelers lack a dedicated, seamless way to book professional photoshoots while abroad.
Photo Trips solves both problems by connecting travelers with local photographers for curated, instantly bookable photoshoot experiences. Our mission is to help travelers discover hidden gems while capturing their journey through high-quality visuals.
With the rise of social media and content-driven travel, demand for professional photos—and soon, video—is accelerating. We’re positioning Photo Trips at the intersection of travel, creator economy, and local experiences.
Go-To-Market Plan
We leverage content generated from our photoshoots (with user consent) to drive organic growth via Instagram, TikTok, and SEO. Our go-to-market strategy combines social media virality, affiliate partnerships, and targeted blog content to acquire customers cost-effectively and at scale.
Potential Exit
Potential acquirers include travel platforms (Airbnb, Booking) and experiences marketplaces (Klook, GetYourGuide, Viator / TripAdvisor) who want to expand their offering with travel photoshoot experiences.
Camera providers (Sony, Canon, Nikon) can also be interested in partnering with our large network of photographers while improving their visibility to travelers (both potential customers).
